Torchbearer Story:
Greg Stenmark is a proud Canadian. He considers Canada one of the most beautiful places in the world. Every time he travels to other parts of the world, it is always wonderful for him to return home, to smell the fresh air and to see the clean countryside. Stenmark belives everybody is doing their part to pick up litter and keep our proud country clean. Stenmark and his family are also doing their part. Starting at home, they watch what they throw out and purchase products that are good for the environment. When Stenmark and his family go for walks, they take a bag with them so they can pick up litter along the way. They try to recycle everything, from their papers, compost and their Coca-Cola cans. Stenmark also works at sea on the beautiful B.C. coast. Over the years, Stenmark has been happy to see the coastal waters starting to flourish, kelp beds returning and shellfish on the rise. During the Olympics, Canada will be opening its home to the world and Stenmark hopes it can show off its little part of the world.
